Planning approval for a new residential scheme in the shadow of Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena has been granted on November 12th 2015.

Trigram Properties lodged an application to build two blocks comprising 63 apartments and two commercial units, which could be become a restaurant or bar, in August.

One block has been designed to form a distinct L shape fronting Edward Street and Helena Street while the second standalone block will have a separate entrance on Scotland Street.

The approved development lies about 250 metres from the Barclaycard Arena and a ten minute walk from the newly redeveloped New Street Station. It is also in the vicinity of The Qube apartment block, The Mailbox and Brindley Place.

The development has been given formal approval at the Birmingham City Council planning committee last week (12 November 2015).
